Take a break from Christmas shopping and get some exercise! Let’s get out and do a brisk hike at the Auburn Reservoir in Auburn NH on Saturday December 13th. This is an easy hike with little elevation gain. It is mostly flat and well graded with a few rocks and roots along the way. This is considered a family and dog friendly hike. It is a 3.9 mile loop with beautiful views of the pond. It will be approximately 2 hours round trip at a leisurely pace. Please bring a small backpack with 2 bottles of water and snacks.
Wear layers and pack gloves and a hat. Hiking boots are strongly recommended.
Hiking poles or a walking stick are optional.
We are planning to carpool from the church parking lot. Meet at the church at 9:00 and we will plan to leave about 9:15.
Approximate drive time is 25 minutes. Directions to the parking lot and trailhead:
Follow Rte 93 North to 101E. Take exit 2 off of 101E toward NH 121/Auburn/Chester. Turn right onto
Hooksett Rd .3 miles and left onto Old Candia Rd .4 miles. Turn left onto Tower Hill Road and follow the
dirt road about 1/2 mile to the 3 rd gate and park on the right. If you have a GPS, put 6 Tower Hill Rd into
your GPS and take a left onto the dirt road just before the address. Please sign up for the hike online so
we can determine approximately how many will be attending.
We will plan to go out to lunch at Auburn Tavern after the hike.
